Learn about the Uses and Assets Pertaining to the Yamaha YPG-635

By Jesica Piazza

There are 30 songs that are built-into the Yamaha YPG-635 along with an additional 70 on CD-ROM which is included for beginners to learn how to play by using the Education Suite from Yamaha. These songs provide 7 lessons as well as a chord dictionary. The waiting Mode stops the song from playing back until the correct note is found, then it continues. The Tempo Mode allows learning to play the correct notes with the right timing. This mode will adjust to work with the speed that you are playing. The song beat will decrease when a wrong note is played so that you can learn at a comfortable pace.

With the Minus One Mode you can perfect your technique. The song will be played at the regular tempo, without the part you choose to play. You play along while you listen to the song. The Lesson Grading monitors how your practice is progressing by giving you a grade each time you practice a lesson. The location of the song will be moved back 4 measures from where you pressed the button, then playback will start after a 1-measure count-in. The section will be repeated, permitting you to practice to perfection. The Chord Dictionary demonstrates how you should play chords and lets you know which chords are being playing by showing the chord names and names on LCD screen.

The YPG-635 has a feature that is equivalent to a multi-track recorder that is built-in to record single or multiple parts at one time and allocate each part to a separate track. There are six tracks offered to provide sophisticated melodies, rhythm parts and chord accompaniment. Subwoofers and tweeters give sounds that are clear and precise for more instrument voices that are lifelike. A port on each of the speakers offers a strong impact that reproduces the bass sound.

The keyboard has a feature called "Full Keyboard Mode" which enables the keyboard keys to function similar to a piano. A lot of people are aware that it is necessary to play the melodies on the right and chord on the left of the keyboard. However this feature will allow you to play notes freely across all keys in the same way a real piano would. When you have decided to play this piano with additional features, the chord will then be followed by a virtual band. This feature is very remarkable and put the icing on the cake by making the abilities of the Yamaha YPG-635 to effectively emulates a grand piano.
