For new movies 2012, you've come to the right place. Find out what's going on in the film world for the 12 months of 2012. All of these are movies which will open in theaters in 2012.
In January, "Everybody Loves Whales" starring John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore and Ted Danson comes out. This movie is based on a true story of a Greenpeace worker and reporter who fight to save the whales trapped in the ice. Also look forward to "Joyful Noise" with Queen Latifah, "Man on a Ledge" with Sam Worthington and "Premium Rush" starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is a movie coming out in February, and follows the continuing adventures of Lucy and Edmund Pevensie as they return to Narnia, meet up with Prince Caspian, and have many adventures. Definitely one to look forward to. "The Vow" is based on a true story about a newlywed couple who get into a car crash, and then the wife goes into a coma, and when she wakes up she can't even remember her husband.
"Hansel and Gretel" takes a crazy turn in March, with a movie coming out where the siblings are witch hunters, and which takes place a decade and a half after the whole gingerbread incident. "Hunger Games" also comes out in March. This film which is based on the novel, will feature Katniss Everdeen's fight for survival as she is drafted to take place in the hunger games -- a television show where children are forced to fight gladiator style, to the death.
In April, the following films are scheduled to be released in the theaters: "Dorothy of Oz", "Intent", "Iron Sky", "American Reunion", "The Cold Light of Day", "Think like a Man", and "Chimpanzee". In May, expect the following: "The Avengers", "Dark Shadows", "What to Expect When You're Expecting", "The Dictator", "Battleship", and "Men in Black III". In June, the following movies will be released "Snow White and the Huntsman", "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter", "Brave", and "Star Trek 2".
In July, there are at least two comic book movies to look forward to: "The Amazing Spiderman", and from the Batman franchise, "The Dark Knight Rises". In August, look forward to some sequels: "The Bourne Legacy", "G. I. Joe 2" and "The Expendables 2".
In the months of September and even October, a bunch of horror or scary type films come out. Look forward to "Resident Evil: Retribution" with Milla Jovovich, and featuring the continuing adventures of rivals Alice and Wesker. Another such film includes "Hotel Transylvania" -- which is a film where classic movie monsters all hide out in a hotel for their own safety, probably in a humorous comedic twist of irony. Also look forward to "Frankenweenie" which is a Disney movie where a little kid reanimates his dead dog and stars the voices of Martin Landau, Winona Ryder, and Martin short.
For the month of November, many exciting films will be released: "Reboot Ralph, " "Three Mississippi, " "Ouija, " "James Bond 23, " "Rise of Guardians, " "Breaking Dawn II, " and "47 Ronin." For December, expect a new "Superman" movie (hopefully one that doesn't suck), "Life of Pi, " "Lincoln, " and the brand-new "Hobbit" by acclaimed director Peter Jackson, also responsible for the highly successful "Lord of the Rings" franchise. Enjoy these and other new movies 2012.
