Katie Holmes, a Hollywood  heart throb and wife of action super hero Tom Cruise, reveals her plan to celebrate the 5th birthday of their only daughter Suri Cruise with grandeur. April 18 is a big day in the Cruise-Holmes household as Suri Cruise turns 5 on that very day

What will Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes do for their little girl, is famous for her high-priced couture ($850 Ferragamo bags, $635 dresses), jet-setting life and occasional use of a pacifier.

Mother plans a perfect celebration, what she thinks, for Suri Cruise's birthday."This is my favorite day of the year, so we're going to have a little tea party," Katie Holmes told on his KIIS-FM  show on Monday.

Suri, who turns 5 on April 18, will have her wishes granted on her special day. "She wants a pinata and her girlfriends to come over  swimming," the Kennedys star explained of her low-key plans. "We're gonna make a cake together!"

Probably no Pin the Tail on the Donkey, though, Holmes suggested. "We're gonna have a little tea party. I kind of like to girl it up!"

Holmes also dished with Seacrest about two of Suri's favorite girly-girl books: Fancy Nancy and Pinkalicious (about a girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she wakes up with pink skin and hair).

Thomas Cruise Mapother, screen name Tom Cruise (born July 3, 1962), is an American film 

actor and producer. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards and won three Golden

Globe Awards. His first leading role was in 1983 film Risky Business, which has been described as "A Generation X classic, and a career-maker" for the actor. After playing the role of a heroic naval pilot in the popular and financially successful 1986 film Top Gun, Cruise continued in this vein, playing a secret agent in a series of Mission: Impossible action films in the 1990s and 2000s. In addition to these heroic roles, he has starred in a variety of other successful films such as Days of Thunder (1990), Jerry Maguire (1996), Magnolia (1999), Vanilla Sky (2001), Minority Report (2002), The Last Samurai (2003), Collateral (2004) and War of the Worlds (2005). Since 2005, Cruise and Paula Wagner have been in charge of the United Artists film studio, with Cruise as producer and star and Wagner as the chief executive. Cruise is also known for his controversial support of and adherence to the Church of Scientology.

Cruise was born in Syracuse, New York, the son of Mary Lee, a special education teacher, and Thomas Cruise Mapother III (died 1984), an electrical engineer.Cruise's surname originates from his great-grandfather, Thomas Cruise O'Mara,Cruise attended Robert Hopkins Public School for grades three, four, and five. The Mapother family then moved to the suburb of Beacon Hill, in Ottawa, Ontario, so Cruise's father could take a position as a defence consultant with the Canadian Armed Forces. There, Cruise completed grade six at Henry Munro Middle School, part of the Carleton Board of Education, where he was active in athletics, playing floor hockey almost every night, showing himself to be a ruthless player, and eventually chipping his front tooth. In the game British bulldogs, he then lost his newly capped tooth and hurt his knee. Henry 

Munro was also where Cruise became involved in drama, under the tutelage of George teinburg. The first play he participated in was called IT, in which Cruise won the co-lead with Michael de Waal, one playing "Evil", the other playing "Good".Cruise first appeared in supporting roles the 1981 films Endless Love and Taps, the latter in which he played a crazed military school student. His first starring role was in the 1983 comedy Losin' It. Then all are a complete success and carry him to a position of what is now.

Gossip A Night At The Met

So, last night, major happenings in NYC! The Costume Institute Gala brought out many an A-lister to The Met and I just happened to be eyeing the red carpet as the stars were arriving. And by happened to be there, I mean I walked by on my way home and was across the street, stuck behind paparazzi and other ecstatic, not to mention screaming and waving (yes I waved) fans like myself. Although I didn't get a chance to see my love George Clooney (so upset!), I did show up just in time to catch a glimpse of actual superheroes welcoming guests at the bottom of The Met stairs, Mr. Big, Jason Lewis (hard to believe, but even more good-looking in person) the Beckhams, Tom and Katie, J.Lo, MKO (oh sorry, aka my abbreviation for Mary-Kate Olsen, who I'm sure just loved hearing my shout out to her and her sister), Mr. Lagerfeld himself, Blake Lively (so excited to see Serena considering I was missing Monday's ep. of Gossip Girl to star gaze), Valentino, Bonjovi, Eva Longoria and the list goes on.

Gossip Katie says Nicole's pregnancy is "wonderful"

Tom Cruise escorted Katie Holmes – in a dazzling strapless Armani dress – to her premiere, but made sure not to steal the spotlight from his wife. Instead he let her work the press solo while he walked across the street to sign autographs and take photos with fans. The actor was similarly supportive during the making of Mad Money, Holmes said. "Having [20-month-old daughter] Suri and Tom [on set] was wonderful," she added. "You think you love to do something and then you have the people you love there. It makes it a billion times better and you didn't realize you were missing that before. It's like 'Oh my God, life can be this good.'" Katie Holmes only had kind wishes for Nicole Kidman. "I'm so happy for her," Holmes, 29, says of Kidman's pregnancy news. "It's wonderful." Kidman, 40, confirmed earlier this week that she and husband Keith Urban are expecting their first child together. Katie Holmes gushes that husband Tom Cruise is a "great father and husband" and says his two children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman are "incredible, really smart and kind." "They call me 'Mom'," Holmes says in this week's Parade Magazine of Cruise's first two children, Isabella, who turns 15 this month, and Connor, 12. "Last year was Suri's first Christmas. It was so spectacular to share the holidays with her," she says. "It really meant the world to me. To be able to create a tradition for your children is one of the best gifts you can have." Her one-year marriage to Cruise, she says, is another gift. "Oh, we have so much fun," she says. "Tom has introduced me to so many new experiences. I have done things I never thought I would do, like climbing mountains and flying in the P-51. That's what is so inspiring about being with him – constant thrills and joy." After taking a two-year hiatus from her acting career, Holmes stars in the upcoming film Mad Money with Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah. She says the three of them had a blast: "We got our morning female talk in the trailer every day." She tells Parade that Tom was very excited for her to do the movie, and that he loved hearing all the stories. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have found one way to spice up their marriage – turning out for a second Spice Girls show, this one Sunday night in Las Vegas. "They can't seem to get enough of our girls!" the band wrote on their website on Monday. Last Thursday, Tomkat, who are friends with Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham), watched the reunited British divas' concert at L.A.'s Staples Center. They were spotted in a private box with daughter Suri, Victoria's husband David Beckham, and the Beckhams' sons. Three nights later, the Cruises were at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Hotel, where David Beckham joined them in their VIP skybox. After the show, the two couples feasted on stone crab and Kobe beef at SW Steakhouse at the Wynn Hotel. "They were having an absolute blast," a witness reports.

The Spice Girls had some surprise visitors at rehearsals in LA recently when Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes along with baby Suri stopped by to wish them luck for the forthcoming tour. Cruise and Holmes enjoyed an impromptu audience with the girls and were treated to an exclusive performance, while Suri danced along to the music. "David and I are great friends with Tom and Katie," Victoria Beckham said afterwards. "It was lovely of them to come down to rehearsals, a really nice surprise. Katie has told me before that she used to be a big Spice fan so it was great for her to meet the girls." The Spice Girls reunion tour kicks of in Vancouver on December 2.

Gossip Tom Cruise to play Hef?

There could be an unusual role in Tom Cruise's future - Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. According to the Palm Beach Post, the 45-year-old star of Misson: Impossible and the upcoming Valkyrie is now eyeing the role of the sexual revolutionary in a biopic set to start filming next year. X-Men director Brett Ratner landed the flick after Oliver Stone lost it and has sent the script to Cruise. Word is that Cruise is tickled by the project, although no decision has been made. "A lot of people consider Tom for a lot of roles," a Cruise publicist said. Ewwwwwwwww. Let's hope this is just a rumor.

Gossip Suri's fancy tea party

The tradition for runners the day before a big race is to have a pasta dinner. But last Saturday, marathoner Katie Holmes was focused on throwing a tea party for her 18-month-old daughter Suri. Holmes and husband Tom Cruise held the party inside the Carlyle Hotel's Bemelman's Bar, which is decorated with artwork from the Madeline series of children's books. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., about 10 kids and 15 adults enjoyed mini burgers, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, french fries, cookies, and strawberries, and danced to kids' songs played on the piano. "Suri and her friends had a Madeline tea," an observer said, and she was "running around and dancing and playing with friends."

Gossip Katie "strong, gracious," says Tom

With an 18-month-old daughter, a young marriage, and responsibility for a major movie studio, Tom Cruise isn't getting his beauty sleep. "Just like everybody else, you just work it out," Cruise tells Entertainment Tonight about his hectic schedule in an interview airing Thursday, according to the Associated Press. "We've gotten pretty good at organizing everything. I don't sleep much anyway." Cruise, 45, marks two one-year anniversaries this month: his marriage to Katie Holmes, and the deal that put him and producing partner Paula Wagner in charge of United Artists studios. Family life with Holmes, 28, and daughter Suri is "all very good, all very lovely," he says. "I have a lot of respect for [Katie] as an artist, as a woman. She's a very strong, gracious woman. She's very funny, a great comedian." The UA job, on the other hand, has him feeling like a student again. It's "kind of like film school," he says, "like a dorm with all hands on deck. We're all very supportive and very honest." Cruise admits he'd eventually like to try his hand at directing. "I will one day," he says. "I've always wanted to. I've been offered things to direct but have to find the right piece." As for his current sleep deprivation, Cruise looks on the bright side. At least it's not due to anxiety, as it was in his younger days. He recalls, "I remember lying in bed at 18 going, 'Man, I just really hope I don't get fired.'"

Gossip Tom defends controversial role

Tom Cruise has broken his silence and is defending his controversial role as the German colonel famous for a failed attempt to kill Adolf Hitler. "All I can say is, 'Save your comments until you see the movie,'" Cruise told a German weekly regarding the German politicians and media who have attacked his religious beliefs and his decision to play one of Germany's greatest heroes in the movie Valkyrie. "I want to think positive and concentrate on the film. I carry a great responsibility to the Germans, for whom a man like Stauffenberg means so much," Cruise said. "And I feel this responsibility to the man himself. The more I learn about him, the greater my respect and admiration of him." Cruise added that when director Bryan Singer approached him about the role, he tossed a script on his desk with a picture of Stauffenberg on the cover. Says Cruise, "Intuitively I saw a similarity in the profile of this man and myself. Naturally that's something that makes an actor curious." Cruise says he enjoys living in Berlin with Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri: "To my great delight I've discovered that my family and I can walk in the park at night and it's not dangerous."

Gossip Tom Cruise extortion suspect arrested

FBI arrested a 47-year-old man earlier this week for his alleged role in attempting to extort Tom Cruise. David Hans Schmidt is being held on $100,000 bail for attempting to sell the actor stolen private photos from his wedding to Katie Holmes last November. Schmidt was asking for more than $1 million for the pics. Cruise's reps immediately contacted the FBI when they were approached about the photos earlier this year. Schmidt has a history of contacting celebs, including Paris Hilton, Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx, in the hopes of selling private photos or video back to them after they have been stolen.

Gossip Tom to star in spy thriller?

Columbia Pictures is reportedly developing a spy thriller possibly for Tom Cruise. According to Variety, Hotel Rwanda director Terry George is in talks for the film, based on a script about CIA officer Edwin A. Salt, who was accused of being a Russian sleeper spy. Cruise's next project to hit theaters is Robert Redford's Lions for Lambs, due out this fall, and he is currently in early production on the controversial Valkyrie.

Gossip Tom Cruise banned from filming in Germany

Germany has barred Tom Cruise and the producers of Valkyrie, a movie about a plot to kill Adolf Hitler from filming scenes at German military sites because of Cruise's beliefs in Scientology. The German government does not recognize the Church of Scientology as a church, claiming it masquerades as a religion to make money. Cruise is set to play real life colonel Claus con Stauffenberg, who led an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Hitler with a bomb in his briefcase in July, 1944. A spokesperson for Germany's Ministry of Defense said the producers "will not be allowed to film at German military sites if Count Stauffenberg is played by Tom Cruise, who has publicly professed to being a member of the Scientology cult... In general, the [German military] has a special interest in the serious and authentic portrayal of the events of July 20, 1944 and Stauffenberg's person."

Gossip Tom to preside over Scientology wedding?

Tom Cruise has reached the highest level in Scientology, referred to as "clear," and reportedly may perform a wedding ceremony for his friend, Australian heir James Packer. According to Women's Wear Daily, Packer is one of the Church of Scientology's richest benefactors after inheriting $6.5 billion from his father last year. A mystery guest, believed to be Packer, has booked the entire Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat and the Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc, presumably for guest of his nuptials, set to take place on Wednesday on France's Cote d'Azur.

Gossip Baby plans for TomKat

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes "definitely" have plans for another TomKitten. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight to air Monday, Holmes replied, "Yes, definitely," when asked if the couple were planning to expand their family. "We're having the best time, it's so amazing," Holmes added. "We have so many kids in our house, there's always this wonderful chatter and the great noise of kids." Of her husband's adopted children with ex Nicole Kidman, Conner and Bella, Holmes describes them as "so sweet, they're so great with Suri and she lights up when she sees them." "Katie was really friendly. When she came in she walked up and introduced herself and Suri. We probably had three other kids in here. "The stationary is cream-colored with 'Suri Cruise' embossed across the top," said the shop owner.

Gossip Porn star wants Katie's moniker

Katie Holmes is fuming after learning that a fashion student with plans of becoming a porn star has changed her name to Katee Holmes. "It's a really cheap shot," says a rep for the actress. A manager for the future porn star, who will be launching her career by losing her virginity on film, says, "Katee is using the name as a tribute to Katie, who has always portrayed an innocence in everything she's done, beginning with Dawson's Creek." The real Holmes's management team is reportedly weighing the actress's legal options. "It's really kind of sleazy, using her name like that," says a friend of the star. And a rep for Cruise adds, "Obviously, Tom would support Katie in anything she decides to do about it." Tom Cruise and Suri recently visited Holmes on the set of Mad Money in Louisiana.
